Lifeguards are good at calling out bad behaviour.

It's a great pool if you go during work days, but not after 6 pm or on weekends. Sadly Huntsville Aquatic Center gets quite busy and the staff don't count the patrons entering their venue. At times it can feel heavily overcrowded with barley any space for you to breathe in - let alone swim. Another word of warning, you will have a bad experience if you go during lunch hours, as school kids begin to arrive in groves! Early mornings can sprout up pool aerobics classes often limiting the lanes for swimmers. If by some miracle you squeeze yourself between the odd hour you will find the venue quite accommodating. There are all the usual positive amenities, such a spa, sauna, outdoor sun area, place for the kids to swim, showers, baby pool, and fast lanes.

This place sucks during the day. If you want to swim in the fast lane forget it.. it’s full of clueless Chinese doing breast stroke and back stroke or walking. The poor lifeguards tell them to move to a slower lane but they can’t understand English or move into the kids swimming class lane (yes this actually happened). So so frustrating. Can I suggest some signs in Chinese!? Or more letting the lifeguards be more assertive in moving these pests over to a slower lane?!

To many rules!!! The staff are young and nice. Very hard to enjoy with your children when everything is restricted. Only come here because its close. There is a 25m pool but very hard to do laps as its always crowded. Very strong chlorine smell not enough ventilation.

Parking can also get very busy and some visitors can be very rude. The lockers are very expensive and really hurt the patrons instead of serving them. The male bathrooms don't have doors, the showers sometimes have very little force, and often patrons also enjoy using them as urinating cubicles. Lastly be mindful of your bag at all times, as I've had my old phone stolen. The water is recycled and not fresh, so you'll need a good shower after to remove the chlorine smell.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend Hurstville Aquatic Center anymore, I used to really like this pool when it was quieter, however now it's incredibly busy and quite expensive. With more people comes more issues, lack of maintenance, lack of cleanliness, overstaffed with administrators and lack of actual facility cleaners or management. They simply need to build an outdoor swimming pool, this would solve the issues with numbers and allow more patrons during summer.

I wish they had an outdoor pool, they have the space but maybe not enough funding to build one?

The kids pool is great for toddlers, they can wade in.

Shame they don't have something similar at Bexley.

In conclusion, If you can make that extra trip to Sutherland Aquatic Center, then do so. Their facilities are much, much better!

got my and my friends stuffs stolen from changing room. As soon as we enter we got our phones and wallets stolen. realized it after we came back from swimming. Complained to manager and asked staffs if it had happened before and the staffs casually said yes. I mean how irresponsible of them to never put a sign that items are being stolen or keeps items at your own risk. They shoukld at least ask customers to place items in locker room to be safe if such incidents had have happened before.. would give negative stars if i could. Never going in that place again. NEVER EVER

The canteen or indoor food shop is atrocious. Exceedingly high prices and terrible quality of food. I would avoid it at all costs, even if you were dying of hunger - it is that bad.

Some questions need to be raised in regards to hygiene, as there is hair and dirt everywhere, people walk in with their street shoes and no one bats an eye. Also the venue itself has a water slide surrounded by outside dirt, often that can get in the actual pools where the kids are swimming. In the spa's if you look up you will notice that their air conditioning ducts are full of dirt. Above the lockers it was incredibly dirty, hair can get in the pipe grooves and it's not cleaned away. Also due to lack of bins people tend to rip off their hand bracelets and just chuck them everywhere.

Regarding price, with concession it can be reasonable, that's mainly why the patrons who frequent this venue are old. If you come on days when it's not busy you will get the most out of this place. There is also a gym next to the pool which a lot of people like to use.
